Zenato – Amarone Classico della Valpolicella

Appearance

• Deep ruby red and dark as night.

Nose

• A super complex and rich wine on the nose with notes of dark cherry, plum, raisins, dates, prunes, toasted spice, smoke and cocoa.

Taste

• The palate is equally complex and an utter stunner. Flavours of Blackcurrant, plum, raisin, dates, cocoa, coffee, dried herbs and vanilla with subtle influence of oak.

Hand selected grapes from the best parcels of Zenato’s vineyards are then dried through the appasimento process over several months to intensify the flavours. After fermentation the wine is then aged in oak for over 36 months.

Zenato

• Founded in 1960 by Sergio Zenato with the goal of investing in native grape varieties of the Valpollicella region. Until that point many older vines had been replaced by more commercially popular French grapes. Today Zenato hold 95 hectares of vines in the regions of Valpolicella, Lugana and Tuscany. The Zenato vineyards are built on stone wall terraces that date back to the time of ancient Rome.
