Appearance

  • Pale yellow in the glass.

Nose

  • The aroma is super floral with notes of citrus blossom, jasmine, chamomile and lemon juice.

Taste

  • The palate features strong yet balanced acidity, white flowers, lemon citrus and yellow berries.

This wine is a blend of 95% Falanghina topped up with a touch of Greco di Tufo and Fiano di Avelino. The vines are grown on well drained soils and trained on the Guyot system which helps aeration and prevents fungal growth. The grapes are hand harvested and fermented in stainless steel to preserve the wines fresh and delicate aromas.

Sella delle Spine

  • Founded in Taurasi, a small town in Irpina in 1970. At the turn of the millennium, Luigi Caggiano took control of the family winery. The name translates to Saddle of Thorns, a reference to the saddle shaped local topography and the abundance of roses along the vineyard’s edges. Luigi took the traditional winemaking expertise of his family and added modern technology to improve the consistency of the wines. They focus on only using native grapes like Aglianico, Fiano, Greco and Flalanghina.
