Appearance

• A rich gold in the glass with syrupy long-lasting legs when swirled.

Nose

• The aroma is sweet with notes of overripe peach, nectarine, candied lemon and some salinity.

Taste

• The palate is juicy and fresh with flavours of peach, lemon, honey and golden syrup with a balancing acidity.

One of the oldest and most renowned sites along the Mosel River valley where the 40–100-year-old vines grown on blue Devonian slate. The Riesling grapes are harvested late to endure perfect ripeness. The juice is wild fermented and then aged in stainless steel and large oak casks.

Nik Weis

• Nik Wies represents three generations of winemakers in the Mosel with the winery being founded by Nicolaus Weis who was made the Chancellor of agriculture in 1969 for his dedication to German wine. The family are big believers in German Riesling calling it the “King of wine grapes.” Nik believes “The highest quality wines are a result of hard work during an entire year. Careful soil cultivation, precise shoot positioning, leaf thinning, crop reduction, hand picking and late harvesting.”
