Logodaj Winery – Melnik Prime

Appearance

• A deep, dark red in the glass with hues of purple.

Nose

• The nose is robust and dark with notes of dark forest fruits, toasted spice and vanilla

Taste

• The palate is elegant and remarkably smooth with juicy dark fruits, baking spices, coca, smoke and vanilla.

The grapes for this wine are hand harvested from 15 year old vines. The volcanic, clay rich soils are perfect for the native Melnik 55 grape variety. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel to maintain vibrant fruity flavours are maintained. Aging in Slavonian oak vats takes place for 36 months followed by 12 months of in bottle aging.

• Founded in 1994 in the heart of the Struma river Valley, their vineyards cover over 700 acres. Modern Italian equipment was bought in the 2000's to increase production capacity. The winemaker at Logodaj says, "My belief is that wine is not created but transformed. this is where my goal comes from, we humbly transform what nature produces into an excellent result.”
