Logodaj Winery – Melnik 55 Reserve

Appearance

• A super deep ruby red in the glass.

Nose

• The aroma is filled with notes of ripe black cherries, blueberry, alpine strawberry and blackberry with a touch of sweet vanilla and toasted baking spices.

Taste

• On the palate we have a medium to full-bodied wine with flavours of ripe red and black berries, cinnamon, black pepper, plums, chocolate and tobacco with a touch of vanilla bean.

The harvest takes place in early October when Melnik reaches peak ripeness. The grapes are handpicked before maceration and vigorous fermentation in new French oak barrels. Aging takes place in large 225-liter French oak barrels for 24 months and then bottle aged for a further 3 months.

Logodaj Winery

• Founded in 1994 in the heart of the Struma river Valley, their vineyards cover over 700 acres. Modern Italian equipment was bought in the 2000’s to increase production capacity. The winemaker at Logodaj says, “My belief is that wine is not created but transformed. this is where my goal comes from, we humbly transform what nature produces into an excellent result.”
