These Shiraz grapes come from 35-year-old vines in the Mount Duneed site, one of the oldest sights to be planted in Geelong. The grapes were destemmed and fermented as whole bunches. Fermentation took place in massive 500 litre steel vats with wild yeast. The wine was then aged in French oak for 11 months and bottles unfiltered.
Lethbridge Wines
- Founded in 1996 by Maree Collis and Ray Nadeson. Both held PhD degrees in Chemistry and medicine but decided to make the move to pursue their shared passion in winemaking. They purchased land in the Geelong and discovered that that it had previously been tended by Swiss vignerons in the 1870’s before being destroyed by phylloxera. Today the winery focuses on producing the best possible wine using the science of terroir and the art of passion.
ABV: 12.5%
