Lanzerac Wine Estate, home to the world’s first bottled Pinotage and one of the oldest heritage farms in the Western Cape dating back to 1692, has been cultivating award-winning wines for decades. Nestled in the Jonkershoek Valley between the majestic Stellenbosch mountains, this historic Estate’s rich winemaking history can be traced back to the early 1900s, when the first Lanzerac wine was bottled from grapes harvested on the farm. Since then, Lanzerac Wine Estate has cemented itself as a distinguished wine producer with a commitment to superior quality wines both internationally and locally.

‘This classic Cabernet shows inviting flavours of blackberry and youngberry with hints of cocoa, almond and cedar. A full-bodied wine with excellent balance on the palate and a smooth lingering aftertaste. The wine can be enjoyed now, but will benefit with a further 5-8 years of maturation.’

Alcohol – 14% ABV

*Suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans

Joe’s Judgements

Cabernet Sauvignon can be a bit of a quandary, how do you battle highly structured tannins?

By letting the grapes get super ripe as well as using French oak for 16 months. Things get extremely smooth.

A rich, full bodied and succulent Cabernet Sauvignon, with oodles of dark fruit like blackberry, blackcurrant and plum. Oak lends beautiful vanilla and spice, especially nutmeg. A savoury meaty quality hits mid-palate, with leather and tobacco notes. Smooth, velvety, silky tannins all elegantly integrated makes for a delicious experience. Excellent for the price.
