Hundred Hills – Blanc de Noirs

Appearance

• A golden straw in the glass with fine and full mousse.

Nose

• The aroma continuously unfolds with ripe guaca, heady floral notes and a touch of salinity.

Taste

• The palate is delicate with raspberry, roast plum, exotic fruits, sun dried raisins, fresh figs, lemon and brioche.

A long dry vintage allowed the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to be left on the vines for an extended period allowing full ripeness. The wine was fermented in stainless steel and aged on lees for 30 months before disgorgement.

Hundred Hills

• Founded in 2009 by Stephen and Fiona Duckett. The name stems from the Purton Hundred, a land division set out following the Norman conquest and mentioned the Doomsday Book. Hundred Hill’s philosophy is taken from the Burgundian belief that ‘Great wines are made in vineyards, not wineries.’ This means that they use a minimalist style of winemaking to ensure that each vintage is a pure expression of the vineyard.
