Very old vines provide the fruit for this wine. The vines are grown at 2700 ft above sea level from a single vineyard called El Palomar. The juice is fermented at low temperatures with skin contact to preserve fruit purity and floral aromas. The wine is then aged on lees for 5 months; this process is known in France and sur-lie of in Spain as Sobre Lias.

Finca Antigua

  • Finca Antigua’s name refers to the numerous old vines that exist on the 1000 hectares of land. The vineyard occupies 421 of these hectares, the rest is scrubland with holm oaks and kermes oaks. Finca Antigua was love at first sight for Familia Martínez Bujanda. The family were looking to expand their wine experience from their homeland of Rioja. Familia Martínez-Bujanda acquired Finca Antigua in 1999 and built a new winery in 2003.
