Enig-Zenzen – Dr Zenzen 1636 Riesling

Appearance

• Pale straw yellow in the glass.

Nose

• The aroma is fragrant with ripe peach, apricot, orange blossom, honey white flowers.

Taste

• The palate is refined and dry with notes of green apple, pear, lemon zest and flinty minerality.

This Riesling is fermented to full dryness and holds slightly more alcohol than that the regular German Rieslings. This is part of the Zenzen 1636 range that seeks to provide great flavours at a very approachable price.

Einig-Zenzen

• The Zenzen family began wine growing in the Mosel River Valley as early as 1636. It wasn’t until 1939 however that they were officially registered as a wine trading company and merchant. Over the next few decades, the family modernised the bottling and cellar facilities to increase output. By 1971 the family were ready to start importing wine and thus expanded their repertoire to include wines of the new world. Now they are host to such names as Zenzen, Zentini, Imbuko, Aoteroa and many more from around the world.
