Domaines Devillard – Château de Chamirey

Appearance

• A shimmering golden yellow in the glass.

Nose

• The nose is delicately floral with notes of white flowers like lilac. Then comes waves of juicy white fruit, pear, peach and a spicey, minty finish.

Taste

• The palate is ample and well-structured with all the aforementioned juicy stone fruit, florals and pear. The finish leaves with a touch of sea salt.

The grapes for this wine come from 7 different plots across the village of Chamirey. The grapes are carefully hand harvested, then pressed and left to rest overnight before fermentation. The wine then is aged for 15 months with 10% of the total wine seeing 10 months in barrel.

Domaines Devillard

• Domaines Devillard have been making wine in Burgundy for centuries. In the 18th century they built the impressive Château de Chamirey overlooking the Côte Chalonnaise of which the family still use as their base today. Over the last century the family have acquired the estate of Château de Chamirey, Domaine des Perdrix and Domaine de la Ferté. These estates cover every level of Cru within Burgundy.
