Appearance
- An intense red that glints in the light like stained glass.
Nose
- Fresh and inviting with a bouquet of super ripe red strawberries, raspberries, earthy mushrooms and a touch of toasted cooking spices.
Taste
- This is a true Burgundian red with impressive depth and a strong structure. Notes of ripe red berries overlay black and white truffle, toasted baking spices and an earthy long-lasting finish.
Sourced from the famous Les Chanlins vineyard in the village of Pommard. The soils are a mix of clay and sand. Thomas Morey follows the classical wine making methods used in Burgundy with a warm fermentation with limited pigeage. Then ageing in oak barrels takes place for about 12 months.
Domaine Thomas Morey
- The Morey family arrived in Chassagne in 1643 having traveled from Paris in where Claude Morey set up a business making barrels. Through the generations the family slowly added to their portfolio, trading wine, making wine and finally in the 1800’s, growing vines. Thomas Morey is the current head of the family. Thomas has gained a name for making wines of striking elegance from fruit of the highest quality. It’s said that Thomas represents the purest form of each terroir from where his wines come.
