This is a third growth estate as part of the 1855 Classification, meaning it is recognised as producing some of the finest wine in Bordeaux. The vines are planted on two gravel ridges along the town of Saint-Julien. The grapes are hand harvested in early October and sorted by hand. Fermentation takes place in thermo-regulated stainless-steel tanks. The fermenting juice goes through daily pour-overs, rack & return or punch downs. When fermented the wine is blended and aged for 13 months with 20% in new French oak barrels.

Château Lagrange

  • A beautiful property in the Saint-Julien appellation. Its roots date back to the 17th century, but it really began to gain a name for making premium wine after significant expansion in 1796. At that time the Château was owned by Jean-Valère Cabarrus, Napoleon’s finance minister for Spain. In 1855 the Château earned the title of Third Growth Grand Cru Classé classification. The modern estate sits atop two hilltops with 118 hectares of vines grown in gravel rich soil.
