Château Guiraud – Petit Guiraud Sauternes (Half)

Appearance

• A rich gold in the glass with a syrupy texture.

Nose

• The aroma is fresh yet sweet with notes of golden syrup, honeycomb, candied orange and white flowers.

Taste

• The palate is incredibly rich and indulgent with flavours of honey, candied lemon and orange, white flowers and a tiny hint of light spice.

This classic sauternes is made using the Noble rot method. This is where a late harvest of grapes allows the growth of Botrytis fundus that draws out water from the grapes before fermentation. This is a second wine from a major house in the Bordeaux, part of the original 1855 classification.

Château Guiraud

• Founded in 1766 when Bordeuax merchant Pierre Guiraud purchased a 15th century estate called Noble du Bayle. Very quickly the family gained a name for producing some of the best sweet wine in Bordeaux. The family even gained the acclaimed 1855 Bordeaux Classification of Frand Cru Classe.
