Champagne Drappier

  • The family Drappier date back to 1604 to a cloth merchant in Riems named Rémy Drappier. It was not until 1808 however that the family settles in the town of Urville in Champagne and began to farm vineyards. In 1930, the family were the first to replant Pinot Noir in the area, this decision by Georges Collot led to his nickname of ‘Old Man Pinot. After WWII the family bought an old cellar in Urville and founded the current Drappier house.
