Cascina Radice – Aulico Gavi di Gavi

Appearance

• Pale straw yellow in colour.

Nose

• The bouquet is elegant and fine with lemon citrus, white florals and flinty minerality.

Taste

• The palate matches the aroma with a dominance on the flinty and slightly saline minerality followed by lemon citrus and dried herbs.

This wine uses grapes from the heartland of the Gavi commune from stoney and chalky soils which helps develop its mineral forward nature. A short period of skin contact helps bring out some light white florals before maceration and fermentation in steel tanks.

Cascina Radice

Cascina Radice was Founded in 1890 in Piedmont. For nearly 100 years they worked on making great red and white wines from native varieties. in 1981 Roberto Mazzei founded Alibrianza SRL as a wholesaler for Italian food and wine. Whilst they sold other wines, they wanted to get into the trade of making wine for themselves. In 1997 they bought Cascina Radice and now operate it as their premier line of own label wines.
