Cantine Lungarotti – Vermentino Umbria IGT

Appearance

• A super pale white wine.

Nose

• The aroma is an inviting bouquet of fresh peach, lemon peel and dried herbs.

Taste

• The palate of this Vermentino is dry yet incredibly refreshing with decent citrus acidity and some saline minerality over a bed of white fruits and dried herbs.

Only the best free run juice goes through cryomaceration before fermentation in stainless steel at low temperatures. The wine is kept on fine lees to age for a short while before bottling.

Cantine Lungarotti

• The Lungarotti family have been making wine in the Tiber Valley since the 1700’s. In 1949 a collection of Umbrian wine makers gathers to discuss how to modernise the local industry, Giogio Lungarotti is among these. Over the next few decades, the family expand their vineyards and work with other locals’ families to increase the quality and variety of wines they produce. Lungarotti are often at the forefront of DOC, IGT and DOCG awards during the latter 20th century. In 2006, Chiara Lungarotti was elected as the National President of Wine Tourism in Italy. Today the family focus on making quality wines and protecting the environment being certified organic and sustainable.
