Appearance
- A deep purple with touches of garnet.
Nose
- The aroma is rich and full of ripe red and black cherry fruits with a touch of raspberry and spice.
Taste
- The palate is incredibly smooth with velvety tannins and a good length. Notes of red cherry and raspberry mix with a light savoury touch.
Harvested from vineyards in the Lucarelli area of Radda in the Chianti heartland. Hand harvested grapes are soft pressed and fermented at 23 degrees with the skins for 22 days. Malolactic fermentation take place in barrique before a further lengthy bottle aging process.
Borgo Salcetino
- Founded in 1996 by brothers Valno and Tonino Livon who began their winemaking in Friuli before moving to Chianti. The estate covers just 30 hactares with only 15 being dedicated to vines. The land was dilapidated before the arrival of Valno and Tonino, extensive restoration took place of the vines and cellars with the addition of newer technologies to help sustainable practices.
